Abstract

Online buying and selling transactions are basically the same as conventional buying and selling, the difference is the media used. Apart from the gains, there are also disadvantages to watch out for, considering that transactions between business actors and consumers cannot meet face-to-face. Buying and selling activities with the dropship are trading activities where the seller does not have stock of the goods he sells. When the dropshipper receives an order from the consumer, it will be forwarded to the supplier. Methods This research uses normative juridical research methods based on the combination of primary, secondary, and tertiary data collected based on literature studies and field data from interviews using the Consumer Protection Act approach and Law no. 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions to conduct research on this thesis and draw conclusions as answers to the formulation of the problem. The results show that legal protection for consumers in buying and selling with the dropship can be carried out preventively, and the legal consequences that arise if there is a default in buying and selling using the dropship , namely the losses experienced by consumers are the responsibility of the supplier because it is in accordance with the agreement between the dropshipper and the suppliers. Consumer rights are regulated in Article 4 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Legal Protection, while the obligations of business actors are regulated in Article 7 of the Law on Legal Protection.
