Transportation demand, or in other words the need for people and goods for transportation services, is not a direct need (the desired final goal). In fact, the need for transportation services arises due to the desire to achieve or fulfill other real goals. Transportation services are only a medium to reach an intermediary to achieve other intended goals. The aim of the research is to obtain the characteristics of travelers in choosing a mode of transportation, to obtain a mode choice model that can explain the probability of travelers choosing a mode of transportation between KBT executive and Tiomaz executive and to find out changes in the probability of travelers so that KBT executive and Tiomaz executive users can make decisions. choose a particular mode to be used by looking at the sensitivity of the two modes. In research to determine the characteristics of transportation mode selection, the Binomial Logit method or model is used. From the analysis of the mode choice model, the equation for the utility function is obtained, namely Y = 0.103 + 0.073X1 + 0.364X2 – 0.032X3 + 0.115X4 + 0.352X5– 0.002X6 + 0.133X7 – 0.067X8 + 0.409X9. The results of the research are four variables that have a significant influence on mode choice. Then the coefficient values of the four variables were entered into the binomial logit model, so the result was that the probability that KBT executive transportation passengers chose as a means of getting to Medan or Tarutung was 77.5% and the probability that Tiomaz executive transportation passengers chose 22.5%.
