Abstract

Column is one of the elements of the frame structure that experiences pressure and bending, in addition to functioning to withstand the forces acting on the column itself as well as supporting loads. -loads from beams and floor slabs which are passed on to the foundation. As a result of the loads acting on the portal structure, the column generally experiences eccentric loading, which results in additional moments, so that stress will arise, thus the column cross-section will become a compressive and tensile area. Comparative analysis of the two columns is carried out based on the calculation of the five loading conditions columns, namely: (1) the condition of the load centric, (2) the condition of the collapse of the press, (3) the condition of the collapse of the balanced (balance), (4) the condition of the collapse of the drop, (5) the condition if the load is Pn = 0. In this study, the data will be modeled with the same two columns, namely the quality of the concrete fʾc = 25 MPa, the quality of steel fy = 350 MPa, the dimensions of the square column 620/620, the dimensions of the round column Ø700 and the area of the steel reinforcement is the same. Where in the square column reinforcement used 4D26, 12D15, 16D13 and the round column used reinforcement 4D26, 6D12, 12D15, 16D13. The difference is the type of column consisting of square and round columns, with the aim of obtaining the optimum nominal moment capacity.
