Abstract

t is not an easyassignment to write test items as there are some aspects whichshouldbetakenintoaccount. One of themis the cognitive level of the test items. The cognitive level in thisstudyrefers to RevisedBloom’sTaxonomy (RBT). This studyaimsareevaluating the RBT applied in a test used in a General English class for non-English major students. It examines the consistencybetweenthe RBT planned to achievestated in the syllabus of the course and the RBT applied in the test. Content analysisusing the theoreticalframework of RBT wasemployed in thisstudy. Results show thatthe RBT levelsfound in the test were not consistentwiththe onesstated in the syllabus.
