Edukasi Pemanfaatan Media Sosial sebagai Platforms untuk Meningkatkan Kesadaran Literasi Digital Berbahasa Inggris bagi Kelompok Remaja Karang Taruna Timuato

The use of social media has a significant impact on the development of digital literacy, especially in the context of online communication. The purpose of this community service is to provide education related to the use of social media as a platform to increase awareness of digital literacy in English for youth groups in Timuato village, Telaga Biru District. This activity has been carried out for 12 weeks (July – October) in 2024 through several implementation methods, including socialization, training, social media application, mentoring and evaluation, and monitoring the sustainability of the program. The results of this community service activity show that the youth of the youth organization in Timuato Village, Telaga Biru District gained a deeper understanding of digital literacy, including the ethics of using social media, digital security, and how to produce positive and useful content. In addition, this activity has an impact on the improvement of skills possessed by the youth group of youth organizations in Timuato Village in terms of self-development, digital literacy awareness, and their real contribution to the social environment. Therefore, this activity has significant implications for the use of social media in improving digital literacy in English, especially for youths in Timuato Village, Telaga Biru District.
