EVALUASI KEBUTUHAN AIR BERSIH DAN KAPASITAS RESERVOIR DI KECAMATAN SIDIKALANG

Abstract

Clean water has an important role in the development of a region both large cities and rural areas require and adequate clean water supply system to meet the needs of their population. PDAM Tirta Nciho Sidikalang unit is an agency that provides clean water services to the community in Sidikalang District. Based on data, 72% of population in the PDAM Tirta Nciho service area has access to clean water. The production capacity of the PDAM Tirta Nciho Water Treatment Plant (IPA) reaches 80 liters per second, with the reservoir located on Air Bersih street Sidikalang city. Currently, the Sidikalang IPA unit serves 9,940 house connections in the sub-district, while the population of Sidikalang sub-district has reached 55,123 people. To ensure that clean water needs are filed in the future, an evaluation of water needs and reservoir capacity is neede. This research aims to analyze and evaluate water needs and reservoir capacity by projecting the number of PDAM customers for the next 10 years. The method used in this research is the geometric method, with data collection including population, number of customers, water consumption, water production capacity and reservoir data. The research results show that using the prohection method which has the smallest standard deviation, the population in 2033 estimated to reach 65,053 people with 11,445 customer connections and water demand of 237,945 m³ or 91.80 liters per second. Thus, the current water production capacity is not optimal to meet these needs. Evalution of reservoir capacity shows that the total reservoir volum of 1,986 m³ is not sufficient for clean water service needs for the next 10 years.
