Soil is a collection of minerals, organic materials and relatively loose sediments, which are located on bedrock. Soil functions to support all building loads which influence the carrying capacity of the soil in supporting the construction loads above it. The direct shear strength experiment is one of the oldest and very simple tests to determine the shear strength parameters of clay soil. It is hoped that the zeolite mixture used can reduce or eliminate the unfavorable soil properties of the soil used. The methodology used in this research uses the experimental method. In this test there are several tests, namely knowing the physical properties of the soil and knowing the mechanical properties of the soil. This research aims to determine the shear strength of soil that has been stabilized with a mixture of zeolite content which has a percentage of 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%. From tests based on research results, the addition of zeolite is able to increase soil density and reduce the optimum water content with each addition of zeolite, with the use of zeolite material as a soil stabilization material it can be categorized as quite good, because it produces a direct shear test which increases with each increase in percentage zeolite.
