Abstract

The rapid development driven by increasing land demand has led to the growth of vertical buildings, such as office towers and apartment buildings. In this context, structural analysisi becomes crucial to ensure the safety and stability of multi story building. This study aims to compare the Cross method and the Takabeya method in analyzing multi story portal structures under the same loading conditions. The main focus of the research is to evaluate the difference in the results of moment, shear force and axial force calculations produced by the two methods. The findings indicate that there are no significant differences between the results obtained from the Cross method and the Takabeya method, with both providing consistent outcomes. The Takabeya method shows faster convergence, achieving convergence at distribution 10 while the Cross method reaches convergenvce at distribution 16.
